Post-processing

Casting finishing

RG Castings Group specialises in casting from A to Z. In addition to our casting techniques, we also offer various post processing techniques to ensure you end up with a high-quality product. All these finishing activities are performed in-house or in association with established partners, allowing us to deliver your castings quickly and cost-efficiently.

Shotblasting

The casting is bead blasted under high pressure. The blasting improves the finish of the casting’s surface.

Rotofinish

A manufacturing process to deburr, descale, polish or clean a large number of pieces at once. Specially formed pellets and the castings are placed in the drum of a vibrating tumbler. The vibrating action causes the pellets to rub against the castings, which produces the desired result.

T6 heat treatment

Heat treatment for aluminium castings to improve their mechanical properties such as tensile strength, hardness and elasticity.

CNC machining

Processing castings on a CNC machine is an effective option for rapid prototyping and finishing castings in general.

Vacuum impregnation

To prevent porosity and tiny holes, polymer resin is pressed into the porosity and then cured to form a pressure-resistant casting.

Pressure & RX testing

Radiography and pressure tests are complementary techniques used to detect minor porosity and leaks in the casting.

Painting (wet/powder coating/KTL) or anodisation

We apply all kinds of surface treatments (aesthetic and non-aesthetic applications) in association with our suppliers.

Washing and packing

Automatic washing removes impurities to less than 3 mg/cm².
